SENSIT VMD

The SENSIT® VMD helps natural gas distribution and transmission operators conduct leakage surveys on underground natural gas piping systems quickly, efficiently, and accurately. The VMD (Vehicle-based Methane Detector) is deployed to detect, grade and map leaks along underground pipelines. It can be used as the primary driving survey tool or deployed alongside an AMLD program in targeted areas to survey coverage gaps. The VMD can be fitted to a wide range of vehicles for mobile leak surveys and includes the following features:

|     Open Path, Methane Selective Infrared Absorption
Spectroscopy

|     Fit To Any Vehicle With Front Hitch & 12VDC Power

|     Near Instantaneous Response as low as 1 PPM Per
Meter

|     Wireless Bluetooth Connection To Tablet

Introduction

SENSIT VMD is a vehicle mounted methane detector for natural gas distribution and transmission leak survey. It detects and maps leaks on underground piping with detection down to 1 PPM per meter, and fits any vehicle with a 2 inch front hitch with 12 VDC power.

The advanced features and near instantaneous response make it one of the most affordable and sought-after mobile survey devices. Methane readings are displayed to the user via a tablet computer mounted in the cab of the vehicle.

Methane readings are logged as gas leaks in real-time with GPS data compatible with Google Earth. Concentration readings make it easy for users to identify the severity of the leak and take appropriate action.

Standard Features

One of the most significant advantages of the SENSIT VMD device is that it can turn any vehicle with a front hitch into a leak survey detector. Installing the VMD is easy, as is switching the VMD from one vehicle to another. It is commonly fitted to vans, trucks, ATVs, and side by sides to tackle even the toughest survey routes.

Once the vehicle mounted methane detector is installed, it’s ready to go in minutes and provides users all the information they need to monitor and manage gas leaks effectively. For tough terrains, many users install the shield which provides increased durability for off-road situations.

  • A Simple User Interface Makes Operating Easy
  • Adjustable Visual and Audible Alarms
  • Displays Gas Concentrations
