What is a natural gas leak?

What makes a SENSIT product different from a 'four gas meter' typically used by a firefighter?

‘Four gas meters’ are often personal protection devices that detect combustible gas at levels nearing risk of explosion. These types of devices alarm to tell you to retreat away from a hazard. SENSIT gas detectors on the other hand detect much smaller concentrations of combustible gas to aid a user approaching a leak source / potential hazard in order to locate it, document it and make it safe.

Our fixed point emission monitors are designed to support continuous or semi‑continuous monitoring at specific sites or assets. Rather than replacing handheld instruments or leak detection and repair (LDAR), they complement broader programs by providing ongoing visibility where periodic checks may not be sufficient. 

Are SENSIT's Emission Monitors safety devices or environmental reporting tools?

Our products such as the SPOD and RAMP are environmental monitoring instruments intended to support awareness and response. The emissions data they collect may inform environmental or compliance activities, we position these products first as tools to help organizations identify issues early and act appropriately, not as standalone safety devices.
